A Gateway to Heaven

Empty lands, empty skies but a heart filled with ecstasy. Ladakh. Lost in the northern end of the Indian subcontinent, this is one of the few places where man can witness the sheer brilliance of unadulterated magnificence.

What strikes me most in this photograph is the silhouette of the man staring into the infinity of the mountains. The bewitching landscape can enchant the hearts of any living creature and draw anybody towards itself.

Thailand is not all about beaches and nightlife. It has one of the most captivating palaces, tapestries and statues. These humungous red eyed soldiers guard the magnificent palaces scattered all across the vast metropolis of Bangkok. One could stare at these for hours and yet the heart would not be content. The already vivid colors and the blinding glare of the sun lead to minuscule shutter speeds on my faithful Nikon and the creation of this marvelous picture.

Tears of Nature

Sometimes one can find the best photographs when one least expects them. My hopes of getting a good shot were almost drowned as I got drenched by monsoon showers. As the rains subsided, the enchanting smell of the earth after the monsoon showers got my hopes back up a little. As I waded through wet leaves, this particular one caught my fancy.

People say I need expensive lenses to truly capture the beauty of closeup photography, but all I needed was patience and faith in my Nikon 18-55mm.

30,000 feet…

30,000 feet seem like a trivial distance when you gaze upon this magnificently surreal picture. It looks like white cotton candy floating over flathead lake in Montana. I took the picture on the way to Ladakh as I stared out of my tiny window and forgot all about my cat napping plan.

I wonder – If earth is so beautiful, what does heaven look like?

This marvellous red sandstone structure is the entrance to of the most magnificent monuments ever built – The Taj Mahal. Darwaza-i Rauza or The Great Gate, is the brilliant brain-child of the artists of the 17th century. As I set foot into this paradise on earth, I was simply enchanted.

What I personally like about this picture is the perspective. The same monument can be captured from a million different angles, each unique in its own way. This particular one perfectly depicts the intricacies of this gorgeous monument.
